Directions for Outline & Research Paper:
Each student is required to submit a formal written and well-researched term paper. The student can choose a topic that is related to violent offenders. A proposed outline of your topic is due on Friday, November 3rd, at 11:59 pm. The research paper is due Monday, November 20th, at 11:59 pm. The research paper is worth 20% of your final grade.

References (Please include four of the seven scholarly sources you are planning on using for the final product. This must be in APA format, and the citation must be complete).
Directions for the Research Paper:
The use of at least seven scholarly sources is required. Papers that include less than the required number of scholarly sources or that fail to provide accurate references both in text and on the reference page will be penalized. Additionally, the term paper must follow APA style guidelines.
Please type the paper in the Times New Roman 12-point font, utilizing standard one-inch margins, and referencing all sources (both in text and on the reference page) according to APA format. Point deductions earned through formatting errors and poor writing will be subtracted from the student’s total points. I recommend that students proofread their papers more than once and consult the APA manual (or cheat sheet) when formatting the paper. The recommended length for the paper is between five and seven pages, excluding the title and reference pages. The maximum length for this assignment is eight pages.
This assignment will help students to achieve The Criminal Justice Program’s Goal 3: Written Communication: Being able to write effectively following appropriate writing styles as commonly practiced in the social sciences.
