Book Report & Presentation Guidelines

1. Select and read a book from the options presented.
2. Write a reflection paper that addresses the following questions:
   a. Write 1-2 paragraphs describing the main premise/focus of the book. (15 pts.)
   b. Describe in detail 5 key takeaways you gleaned from this book.
   (50 pts.)
   c. Describe how you might apply/use the information you learned from this experience. (15 pts.)
3. Select one of the following formats for sharing the key details from your book. (20 pts.)
   a. Create a mobile from items related to the story.

• Select 10 items that represent people, places, events, or other parts
  of the book and hang them from a hanger using string or yarn.
  *Write a key that explains each object and why you chose it.
  *Be ready to explain the meaning of the 10 key items as part of your
  presentation.

b. Create a collage to represent the book.

• Your collage should have at least 10 photos or illustrations.
  *Write a key describing each item on the collage.
  *Be ready to share the meaning of the 10 photos/illustrations as part
  of your presentation.

c. Create a book in bag.
*Choose 10 items that represent people, places, events, and other
parts of the book.
*Place them in a brown paper bag.
*Create a label for your bag that includes the title and author.
*Write a key describing each of the items and explain their
importance to the story.
*Be ready to share the meaning of the 10 photos/illustrations as part
of your presentation.

d. Create a “Ten Facts About [Book Title]” Infographic.

• Create a fact sheet infographic of 10 facts you found out during
  reading that would
  be useful to other educators and/or families of young children.
  *Be ready to share the meaning of the 10 photos/illustrations as part
  of your presentation

e. Create a Power Point to summarize the key ideas of the book.
i. Include title, author
ii. Summarize the main focus/purpose of the book
iii. Summarize the 10 key facts/ideas you learned from the book
iv. Write a book review paragraph with 1–5-star rating with a rationale for the rating.
