Overview
As a nurse, you should know how important it is to update your professional information on a regular basis as you continue your education by gathering experience, acquiring skills, and even specializing! This is part of developing your professional nurse identity. Many people find it beneficial to have a presence on professional social media platforms such as LinkedIn. This project will help you to establish or update your professional information with material from this course. The details gathered in this project can also be applied to other professional spaces and applications. One example is a bio that you could provide prior to a conference presentation. A bio is a statement summarizing your professional skills and accomplishments. By this time, you have completed formative assignments that will prepare you for this. This project provides a foundation for additional updates throughout the program and beyond. Please note that many professional social media spaces have character limits as a consideration.

Scenario
Note: You are not expected to set up a live LinkedIn page for this project.

Imagine you need to write or rewrite your “About” page on a professional social media platform to update your professional nurse identity. The About page is a concise, yet compelling, snapshot. You have numerous resources, writings, and artifacts that can guide this summary. You want to create a summary that highlights your professional nursing attributes, examines your current nursing practice, and promotes the professional nursing path you plan to follow in the future. To demonstrate scholarly inquiry and academic integrity, you will include in-text citations and references in your About page.

Directions
Write a professional social media About page with references. Use at least five scholarly, current (published within the last five years) resources to provide evidence-based support for your work.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

Professional Nurse: Describe yourself as a professional nurse. Be sure to include the following in your response:
Describe your vision for your future professional nursing practice.
Describe the path you will take to achieve your vision.
Professional Attributes: Explain your professional attributes that you display or plan to display in your professional practice. Be sure to include your emotional intelligence strengths in your response.
Interpersonal Communication: Explain a skill you use or will use for communicating professionally with other nurses and care team members.
Nursing Theory: Explain a nursing theory you apply or will apply to your professional practice.
Scholarly Inquiry: Explain how you incorporate or will incorporate scholarly inquiry into your professional practice.
Academic Integrity: Explain how you incorporate or will incorporate academic integrity into your professional practice.
State Board of Nursing: Explain a directive from your state that guides or will guide your professional nursing practice. Be sure to include a hyperlink with your reference.
Professional Organization: Describe a membership organization that guides or can guide your professional nursing practice. Be sure to include a hyperlink with your reference.

To complete this project, you must submit the following:

Submit your professional social media About page. Your submission should be a 3- to 4-page Word document that follows APA standards. The title and reference pages are not included in the page count. Sources should be cited according to APA style.
