The Speech Preparation Notes in Module 4 are your guide to completing this assignment. The notes include examples, explanation, and web links to short readings that will help you draft your outline and expand it into a fully developed speech. You are responsible for reading the web links and applying the content to your assignment.
*You choose your own topic for the speech. However, please avoid “how to” speeches or demonstration speeches.
Set out below are some ideas I had for speech topics:
- The Benefits of Learning a New Language
- The Power of Music on the Brain
Requirements for Use of Sources:
You are required to cite two expert sources in your outline, the text of your speech, and recorded sound file. Expert sources can come from a variety of sources (books, magazines, scholarly journals, television, films, YouTube videos, podcasts, etc.) but should be reputable (i.e. appropriate for an academic audience). Please avoid online encyclopedias or dictionaries.
You are required to include in-text citations and a Works Cited/References list citing two expert sources in MLA or APA style at the end of the outline you will submit for Part 1.
