TOPIC:  Regulations in Healthcare

1. Write a paper summarizing a HEALTHCARE LAW or REGULATION covered in the course that you felt was especially interesting.  **Your choice should not be a topic you have discussed in your mid-term paper or in one of our discussions.

• Answer the following questions in your paper:

1. Which regulation did you choose?  Your title and first paragraph should clearly state which regulation you are writing about.
2. How does this law or regulation affect healthcare organizations?
3. How does this law or regulation affect healthcare consumers?
4. What are the specifics of this law or regulation?  When was it created?  What is its purpose?  What does it require?
5. Has it changed throughout the years?  Has there been any amendments to the regulation?
6. How is it monitored or who makes sure organizations are in compliance?

Specific requirements:

1. Length: 3-4 pages double spaced; pages numbered at the bottom of each page
2. Cover page and reference page are required and should not be counted in the 3-4 page requirement
3. Use Arial or Times New Roman, 12 point font
4. APA format must be used for in-text citations and references.  Citations are required throughout the paper to give credit to your sources.
5.  Correct grammar and spelling; use Spelling and Grammar check regularly.
6.  Use paragraph identifiers or headings, such as: Introduction; Summary; Conclusions as applicable. 
7. You must use at least 3 references cited in APA style
