Americas to 1500

This week will explore issues and content relating to the History of Architecture and Urbanism in the Americas to 1500.

Participation Prompt 3:  

This week we explored architecture and urbanism of pre-contact Americas.  Specifically, we explored the importance of how space was utilized by Indigenous Americans for various social and political purposes. This week, we are going to explore these concepts furthers by exploring the importance of maps in colonial Yucatán. By relying on Solari and Barteet’s analyses of Yucatecan maps, consider how the Maya maintained their cultural practices well into the colonial period. [as there are two articles this week you may increase word count to 350 words max.]
