Present the Organization

Key Information
This module draws upon the research and analysis performed in previous activities, which will allow students to assess the current state of their organization and present that information under realistic constraints.
Students will submit the presentation assignment for a grade to complete the pre-coursework AND will use the presentation to introduce themselves at the start of the resident course.

Presentation Assignment #5
Background:
Fire departments across the country face staffing shortages, overworked firefighters, decreased response times, etc., due to unprecedented budget cuts.
Imagine a scenario in which you receive an inside tip that your local officials are considering a 15% decrease in your annual budget. Shortly after receiving that news, you are invited to attend a committee meeting to discuss your organizational strengths and justify needs within an informational context. (You are not supposed to know they are considering slashing your budget). You have no more than five minutes to introduce yourself and provide a persuasive overview of your organization to the committee that will underscore your need for funding without a breakdown, or discussion, of dollar amounts. (Be honest, yet strategic in how you present your strengths/opportunities versus how you present your weaknesses/threats.)
