Graded Project: Identify a Theory or Theorist

Instructions

In this lesson (as well as throughout your associate’s degree program), you’ve been

introduced to individuals who have studied the world of infants, toddlers, and young children. You’ve read about the theories that resulted from their research and observations. For this

project, you’ll reflect on them.

Part One

Choose a theory or theorist that you learned about as part of your studies; you can choose

more than one, if you prefer. Discuss the theory/theorist that you chose, and then explain

how this theory supports how children grow and learn.

Use your course textbooks and other resources to assist you—paraphrase or quote from

them as needed. Be sure to properly cite the information in APA format you paraphrase or

quote. Using APA format, You must submit at least three citations, and each citation must be

from a different source.

Part Two

Describe why these theories and theorists appeal to you. Use clear examples and situations,

perhaps from your own childhood or work with young children.

Format

This paper should be a minimum of three pages in length, double-spaced, and in a 12-point

font size (Arial or Times New Roman). You must include a title page and a reference page

both in APA format. The reference page must contain at least three references, and each

citation must be from a different source.

Note: Your cover page and reference page do not count as part of the page requirement.
