You will learn how to find empirical articles that you need to begin exploring your research question, and to assess the quality of both the article and the journal, using the library’s search tools. You will also learn some aspects of writing in APA style (Title page, References, Tables).
In lab, you will complete a series of exercises designed to acquaint you with the features of PsycINFO, so that you can identify relevant empirical journal articles and begin to evaluate the quality of the journals and the articles.

Is the change in the lifestyle of college students during the period of COVID-19 pandemic correlated with increase in their psychological distress?
- You have already been developing a research question. Now is time to find relevant empirical articles about your topic. Note, this is the topic you will be working on for the rest of the semester.
- Choose 5 articles to download.( I need copies of 5 articles. So please upload the copies of each 5 articles on the file section.) Each of your 5 articles must be peer-reviewed and report at least one experiment or empirical study (not a case study). These will serve as the sources for writing assignment.

3. References have to actually address the question at hand

FOR THE FOLLOWING STEPS, REFER TO THE APPENDIX “PRESENTING RESULTS” IN YOUR TEXTBOOK FOR INSTRUCTIONS AND A SAMPLE PAPER.
- Create an APA-style title page, using a title that reflects your topic and the articles you have selected.
- Create an APA-style abstract about 150 words long. The abstract should summarize your research question, proposed methods (tentative), and your hypothesized results(Null Hypothesis and Alternative Hypothesis).Then briefly explain how your study will build upon a current theory or a recent paper- (This research paper conducting an investigation for three months with the research questions presented above, it should be an investigation that can be done simply within the period. Think about the “practical criteria”: testable with a survey or simple experiment, plan can be carried out in the time available with the resources available: this research )
- Create an APA style references section, listing the 5 articles.
- Create an APA-style table of summary data, with one row for each paper and the following columns:
- author(s) of the paper
- year the paper was published
- journal in which the paper was published
- the number of experiments/survey studies reported in the article
- the average number of participants per experiment/survey study.
