The prevalence of childhood obesity has become a growing epidemic plaguing our nation. Research reports that the number of obese children has tripled within the last half-
century, signifying that it has become a significant global health issue. Childhood obesity has many negative implications, including an increased risk for several chronic diseases and a greater likelihood of suffering from social and psychological problems. To combat this issue stemming
from obesity, genetic, metabolic, behavioral, environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic influences must be considered. A collaborative effort from parents, healthcare professionals, and policymakers is needed to develop effective interventions
designed for prevention and treatment. Through implementing effective prevention and management strategies, childhood obesity can be reduced, helping to enhance the health and wellbeing of future generations.
